About Us

Welcome to our website!  I'm Joe Geryak--owner and operator of AAA Animal Exchange & Taxidermy.

Since I was a young boy, I have loved the outdoors. Some of my fondest memories were the summers I spent with my Grandfather hunting & fishing. As a young boy, I also developed an interest in taxidermy. My first attempt at it was mounting the birds I gathered on my hunting adventures. Everything about taxidermy fascinated me.

As I got older, my interests branched out to mounting small mammals, deer heads and fish. Since I have always strived to hone my skills, throughout the years I studied and worked with some of the best taxidermists in their field. Taxidermists such as Forest Hart (mammals), Frank Newmeyer & Greg Septon (birds), Kenny Asproth (freeze-dry), Tom Sexton (fish), Mike Adams & Joe Meador (deer heads).

2005 World Taxidermy & Fish Carving Championship

Over the years, our company has done mounts for numerous collectors, learning institutions and museums, such as the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, which is the largest of its kind in the country. We have even been suppliers to several Hollywood Production Companies. Some of our dead game mounts appear in the HBO series Deadwood. In addition, we provided props for movies such as The Waterboy and Monster's Ball. We have competed in numerous competitions on a state and national level, going back to the very first World Taxidermy & Fish Carving Championship in Atlanta, Georgia in 1983. Since competing, my wife Kelly and I have won numerous ribbons and awards. However, with our business expanding as it has over the years, our focus has drifted away form competing. With the help of Kelly and our son Justin, what was once a small business that started in a garage behind our house, has transformed into one that employees numerous associate artists in order to service an ever-growing nationwide business. Even with all that we’ve accomplished over the past 30 years, we feel that we can accomplish so much more. Our facility has grown from a two-car garage to over 10,000 square feet and our client list to more than 2500. Whether you’re a sportsman, collector, decorator, museum or taxidermist needing help finding a skin or accessory, AAA Animal Exchange & Taxidermy can help.
